Mills

    Marked on 1892 County Map. Located east of Richland in the NE quarter of Section 28 in Pleasant Township. A ferry crossing the Big Sioux River operated just north of the mill. A safe place to ford the river is marked a half-mile south of the mill.
  • Isaac Moore Saw Mill
    Located in 1892 on Section 2 in Civil Bend Township
  • Old Virginia Mill
    Located on L1-3180 near section 29 of Virginia Township
  • Portland Grain Mill
    Portland Mill, it operated on the Big Sioux River until 1887, “just below the bridge.” FIND Jefferson at the intersection of Dakota & Main (originally Lot 3, Section 32, Township 91, Range 48).
